Watchdog limits access to News.Google in Russia for fake reports

MOSCOW, Mar 24 (PRIME) -- The Russian communications service has restricted access to service News.Google for publication of fake information about the special operation in Ukraine on request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the watchdog said late on Wednesday in a statement.

“The U.S. news Internet resource provided access to multiple publications and materials with unreliable publicly important information about progress of the special military operation on the territory of Ukraine,” the statement read.

The law stipulates criminal responsibility for public distribution of fake information about the country’s Armed Forces.
